1. Scope
This test method is used to evaluate consistency and approximate unconfined compressive strength of soils by means of using a pocket penetrometer.
Currently there is no standard on how to use a pocket pentrometer or evaluation of the data. This standard will be used by field and laboratory personnel to describe the soil characteristics without intense effort and time.
