Revisions to Standard C270 to address C1157 cements - this proposal permits the use of C1157 Types GU, HE, MS, and HS cements in the proportion specification requirements of C270. This would allow specifiers to improve the sustainable attributes of cement-lime mortars because these cements can have lower energy and CO2 footprints than plain portland cement-lime combinations.
