1. Rationale

The purpose of this work item is to update the standard so that if conforms to current unit requirements outlined in the ASTM Form and Style Guide. Other updates to the standard will include clarification on the use of liquid-in-glass thermometer alternatives. Additional guidance will also be provided on how to verify the levelness of the glass containers while while placed in the rotating carriage.
