1. Scope
This practice covers procedures for the determination of flare gas flow by various methodologies including: Optical Flow Meter Optical Flow Sensor Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Flow meters and sensors are used to provide accurate and reliable methods to measure the flow of flare gases on a continuous basis. Flow measurements are frequently used for regulatory or contract compliance custody transfer and process control. Flow measurment will be a critical component of compliance with US Federal flaring operation regulations under development at the US EPA.
