1. Rationale

There is a need to incorporate a field test method for peel strength of joint tape, self-adhering. Manufacturers portend that the adhesive performs the function of holding the joint tape, self-adhering to the drywall board face prior to adding joint compound. This proposed test method will define a method to ensure the adhesive performs as intended.
