1. Scope
The Standard Guide for Hazard Awareness for Search and Rescue Personnel was created to address the current gap in individual level search and rescue standards in the area of hazard awareness. This guide intended to ensure responders know some of the key hazards associated with emergency services response and is not intended to suggest that all SAR Practitioners must have the trainings identified within this guide. However, wherever the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) deems training to be appropriate on these subjects, this document can be used as a guide.
Land SAR teams will train to it; document will be adopted by federal agency
