1. Scope
1.1 This guide establishes minimum training standards for training personnel potentially involved with searching for or rescue of those in distress in land based environments including general SAR operations, structural rescue, rope rescue, confined space rescue, water rescue, and trench rescue. 1.2 Include in this section the system of units to be used. Refer to the above ASTM Standards Units toolbar button for a dropdown menu of ASTMs Form and Style Manual statements. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
