    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: F42.05 | Committee F42 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

Define procedures for maintaining material traceability from original melt/mixing through the final product.

Maintaining traceability is critical in case there are any issues with a product that may be material related. In order to ensure proper traceability, proper procedures for record keeping need to be defined, standardized, implemented and audited. This specification will benefit the government, industry and the general public for applications that are critical such as in the aerospace and medical industries. The specification will be used by material suppliers and product producers.
