1.1.This guide describes procedures and documentation to assist in the specification and performance testing of field-constructed exterior wall assemblies (mock ups) for constructability, sequence of construction, access interference, assembled and component performance, water penetration resistance and air leakage resistance for quality assurance of the installed system. 1.2.This guide is intended to provide guidance to assess the water penetration resistance performance of exterior building wall systems including but not limited to curtain walls, windows, doors, masonry walls, precast concrete, cast-in-place concrete, , Stucco, Wood siding, metal panels, including the intersection between wall systems. 1.3.This guide is intended to provide guidance to assess the in-place air leakage rate of exterior windows and doors. 1.4.This guide is not intended to address thermal, acoustic, structural, or missile impact performance characteristics of a wall system. 1.5.This guide in not intended as a diagnostic tool to evaluate performance deficiencies of a wall system. This guidance can be found elsewhere. 1.6.This guide is not intended to address the performance of exterior building wall systems of low-rise frame buildings.
4.1.This guide is intended to assist the construction team in evaluating the constructability, sequence of construction, access interference, component and assembled performance, and overall system performance of the exterior wall systems. 4.2.This guide is intended for use when specifying construction mockups which are either integrated mockups, or remote mockups. 4.3.This guide is intended as a part of the quality assurance program for checking the performance of exterior walls systems for resistance to water penetration and air leakage. 4.4.This guide in not intended to be used in lieu of preconstruction laboratory testing of a curtain wall system. 4.5.This guide is intended to address technical issues with the wall system. The mockup may or may not be used as an aesthetic mockup; however this standard is not intended to address purely aesthetic issues with the wall system. This guide is intended to be used by owners, designers, specifiers, and contractors
