1. Scope
1.1 This guide correlates instrument measurements to those of sieves so that the instrument may be used in addition to the sieve to expand the capability of particle measurement throughout the manufacturing process and provide better control and efficiency. Achieving correlation may not always be possible as, in general, the instrument and the sieve will measure different particle features or measure the same features differently. The accuracy of the instrument, the sieve, and the acceptable range of product size will also limit applicability. 1.2 UnitsThe values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
