1. Rationale
E2021 is intended to be used to satisfy the requirements of NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC), and NFPA 499. The NEC requires certain equipment to be designated for maximum safe operating surface temperature class rating, commonly referred as the T Codes. NEC T Codes go up to 450 C, while E2021 permits testing up to only 390 C. The purpose of this work item is to satisfy the user needs by increasing the E2021 test temperature limit.
