1.1 These classifications are for additional visual tracking skills that may be possessed by any or all Human Search and Rescue Resources Types and Kinds. This aids land search and rescue managers in ordering tracking resources for search and rescue incidents and to aid team members in communicating the stages of tracking development and the tasks for which they have trained. 1.2 This classification is intended as a supplement to the resource typing specifications of the Incident Command System, F 1993 99, and specifically as a means of defining land search and rescue resources with added tracker skills. 1.3 This classification is suitable for classifying visual tracking resources for a wide variety of emergency management purposes including both search and rescue and law enforcement incidents. 1.4 This classification does not attempt to classify individuals, put forth standards of training, or performance for individuals; nor is it meant to convey certification, skill proficiency, or other measuring of the level of performance of the resource.
