WK25520 Revision of F748 - 06 Standard Practice for Selecting Generic Biological Test Methods for Materials and Devices

1. Rationale

There is a need for guidance concerning the appropriate biocompatibility test methods for implanted devices in contact with or proximity to the Central Nervous System. Currently, F748 does not provide clear guidance in this area. The plan is to revise F748 while also considering specific new implantation test methods for standardization in the future.
