1. Rationale
Currently, the Finish and Appearance section of C90 includes some requirements that are not related to the actual aesthetic quality of CMU and the existing construction. Specifically, the first sentence of Section 7.1 reads All units shall be sound and free of cracks or other defects that interfere with the proper placement of the unit or significantly impair the strength or permanence of the construction. While an important requirement, the requirement is misplaced in the finish and appearance section.
