1. Rationale

Recently developed permeable pavers count on a sufficient void area in the wearing surface to permit infiltration of water. The current C-1272 Standard states in Note 3 of Section 7.3 that the lugs shall project no greater than 1/8 inch unless otherwise specified. This change explains when larger lugs may be required.
