1. Scope
This test method will describe the method used to determine the strength index by handheld shear vane.
The handheld shear vane test is widely used to characterize soil deposits and establish variability from various deposits. The test is simple and easy to run, but performing the test incorrectly will lead to eroneous results. The users will be engineers and geologists.
