1. Rationale

This standard reports a method for the determination of Elastic Modulus from the sonic velocity of a longitudonal wave. We wish to add the measuremnet of the shear wave velocity such that both the shear modulus and Poissons ratio can be determined. A round robin will be initiated for the propsed shear velocity method.
