1. Scope
The determination of field conditions of gasket assemblies prior to remedial repair. The scope of the document is intended to address aesthetic and waterproofing concerns initially. Later versions of the standard may address structural repair of the gasket assemblies.
Aging gasket assemblies continue to be used in existing facilities. Many are performing adequately but have lost the lip pressure to prevent moisture intrusion. Uniform industry evaluation of the material and assembly is of value.
