1. Scope
This test method determines the puncture resistance of a protective clothing material specimen by measuring the force required to cause a sharp-edged puncture probe (hypodermic needle) to penetrate through the specimen. The standard describes three tests probes that may be used: 21, 25, or 28 gauge needles.
