1. Scope
The purpose of this specification is to provide for the acceptable components and minimal physical property values of a stabilized mulch matrix. The function of a stabilized mulch matrix is to provide temporary erosion control protection and to aid in the establishment of plant material.
Stabilized mulch matrix products are used by DOT, for fire rehabilitation and private development of real estate. A material specification is needed so that regulatory agencies and specifiers can be assured that minimal physical properties are met so that the material will meet the necessary performance requirements of the site.
