ASTM WK24251

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK24251 - Revision of E1557 - 05e1 Standard Classification for Building Elements and Related Sitework-UNIFORMAT II

Active Standard: E1557 - 09

Developed by Subcommittee: E06.81 | Committee E06 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

Prepare for the next re-approval ballot of year 2014 by: -- researching the needs of users and their work-arounds and seeking their input for change -- editing the existing classification to meet the approved UNIFORMAT II Guidleines -- incorporating the completed generic UNIFORMAT II faniliy text changes and keyword designators noted bwlow as being complete. Preparation for consistency in UNIFORMAT II Elemental Classifications text. To review and edit the initial sections (Scope, Referenced Documents, Terminology, Significance and Use) of E1557 UNIFORMAT II to arrive at a consensus for a generic text that can be applied to all standards in the proposed upcoming UNIFORMAT II suite of elemental classifications. To rationalise and clarify the content of Section 8 Keywords to ensure consistency in application and arrive at a generic base list of keywords for use in all standards in the proposed upcoming UNIFORMAT II suite of elemental classifications. Presently keyword searches do not arrive at a consistent listing of appropriate and connected elemental and estimating standards. THIS WORK HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETED WITHIN E06.81 UNIFORMAT II TASK GROUP (and incorporated into the E2103 Bridge class revising) SO CONSEQUENTLY THIS PART OF WK ITEM IS WITHDRAWN
