1. Rationale
This ballot revises the standard for commercial cribs to make an exception for commercial cribs that are not evacuation cribs. For child care situations, it is not necessary for all cribs to be evacuation approved. Local regulations generally mandate that certain numbers of evacuation cribs are required for the population of children under care. The evacuation cribs are required to be so identified. The exception for the commercial cribs that are not evacuation cribs is that they are exempted from Section 5.4 of the standard and the related test requirements. The revision also includes the requirement of a warning for these commercial cribs that state they are not to be used for child evacuation.
