1. Scope
This standard guide covers the common mixing and installation requirements for hydraulically applied mulch products used for establishment or re-establishment of vegetation, erosion control, dust control, protection of stockpiled top soils or other materials.
In the field hydraulic mulches are sometimes mis-applied, not providing a uniform delivery of fiber to the soil surface. When this happens performance of the erosion control product can be negatively impacted. This guide for mixing and application of hydraulic mulches could be used by hydraulic mulch contractors, DOT inspectors, specifiers and others interested in a proper application of these products.
