1. Scope
This guide provides a resource for those designing details for waterproofing system. Considerations in the design of these details are discussed. Example details are provided for selected waterproofing systems. This guide is not intended to replace the traditional roles and responsibilities of a buildings design and construction team or of waterproofing material manufacturers. The selection and specification of a waterproofing system is not included. The design of expansion joints utilzing proprietary systems is not included.
The design of suitable details for the installation of waterproofing system is an important part of achieving desired performance. Failures of waterproofing systems are often difficult and expensive to repair.
