ASTM WK23486

(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK23486 - Revision of E1086 - 08 Standard Test Method for Optical Emission Vacuum Spectrometric Analysis of Stainless Steel by the Point-to-Plane Excitation Technique

Active Standard: E1086 - 08

Developed by Subcommittee: E01.01 | Committee E01 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

Revision required to include different types of modern instrumentation, add elements, expand quantitative concentration ranges. The STM will be for more that just vacuum spectrometers. The old title gave the impression that all stainless steels could be analyzed by the STM but it only covered a few 300 type stainless steel grades.
