1. Rationale
Revision required to include different types of modern instrumentation, add elements, expand quantitative concentration ranges. The STM will be for more that just vacuum spectrometers. The old title gave the impression that all stainless steels could be analyzed by the STM but it only covered a few 300 type stainless steel grades.
