This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement. Although the standard had been reapproved in 2002, the precision and bias section included the statment that in 1995 it had been difficult to find laboratories to participate. At the January 2009 meeting of D13.58 Yarns and Fibers, those in attendance knew of no labs that were using D5104, therefore it was agreed to ballot its withdrawal. If you know of an company or laboratory that is using D5104 and would be willing to assist in maintaining this standard, please respond to this ballot and contact D13.58.
