1. Scope
Using the extraction processes detailed in D2492 as a basis, to develop a test method for determining the sulfur concentration in the extracts using ICP-AES. To develop a protocol for this analysis. To conduct a Round Robin to establish the Precision and Bias parameters for this method. To determine a means of measuring the organic sulfur fraction directly rather than by difference.
Results obtained by the test method are used to serve a number of interests, including the evaluation of coal preparation and processing operations designed to reduce coal sulfur levels.
