1. Rationale
Currently the types of SPF used in roofing applications are classified according to thermal resistance. But, thermal resistance is a physical property (along with other properties such as open cell content) that are affected primarily by the blowing agent used in the manufacture of the foam. Therefore it is more suitable to list the types of SPF used in roofing by the blowing type rather than the thermal resistance.
