(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK21956 - Revision of F2136-08 Standard Test Method for Notched, Constant Ligament-Stress (NCLS) Test to Determine Slow-Crack-Growth Resistance of HDPE Resins or HDPE Corrugated Pipe

Active Standard: F2136-08

Developed by Subcommittee: F17.40 | Committee F17 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Rationale

To add guidance for the selection of razor blades, longevity of the Igepal bath, and notch depth control. To remove the word virgin because the test is appropriate for recycled also. To add the applied stress of 600 psi to the standard. The applied stress is not currently specified but virtually everyone who does this test uses 600 psi.
