This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement because: Beginning January 1, 2009, the national Environmental Protection agency (EPA) will implement a new, and more strenuous emission regulation for all PFCs nationwide. By law, all PFCs for sale domestically will be required to meet this regulation. In addition to this, CARB will continue to require certification to their state emission standards.
