1. Scope
1.1 This guide covers the manufacture of aircraft seeking an airworthiness certificate with multiple aircraft categories. 1.2 This guide establishes the procedures for declaring compliance with both airplane and fixed wing glider standards for an aircraft that may be operated as either an airplane or glider. 1.3 This guide establishes the maintenance requirements and continuing monitoring procedures for dual-purpose aircraft. 1.4 This guide applies to aircraft seeking civil aviation authority approval in the form of flight certificates, flight permits, or other like documentation. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
This guide will be used to assist manufacturers and users of training aircraft that wish to do both glider and airplane training with the same airframe.
