1. Rationale

The revision provided in the next page in Section 8.5 is proposed based on a comment received as part of the D18 (05-06) Ballot. The revision includes addition of temperature to the line that provides values for unit weight of water in a list of parameters included for degree of saturation in Section 8.5. The values provided are valid only at the specific temperature that is proposed to be added to the standard. In addition a correction is made in the decimal point for the unit weight provided in British Engineering units.
