1. Rationale
Rational: In the current standard there is no requirement for the distributor to obtain permission from the manufacturer to scrap or return fasteners that are suspected of being non-compliant. The standard does require the distributor to obtain the written agreement of the manufacturer to sort or rework products. For consistency all four Distributor Options should require agreement from the manufacturer before exercising any of the option to assure the complaint is verified by the manufacturer before the distributor takes any action.
