Work Item: ASTM WK17123 - New Test Method for Test Method for Carbon Monoxide Chemisorption on Supported Platinum on Alumina Catalysts using Dynamic Flow Method

Developed by Subcommittee: D32.01 | Committee D32 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Scope

Dynamic chemisorption is a commonly used technique for determining the active surface area of supported metal catalysts. The proposed method provides standard methodology for performing the preparation and chemisorption of carbon monoxide on supported platinum on alumina catalysts. No standard exists for this technique. Active surface area determinations are widely used in the petroleum and chemical industries. Fule cell research also utilizes similar materials and requires dispersion and active surface area determinations.

Keywords
