1.1 This specification provides the physical property requirements and test methods to determine these properties for fluid-applied air barrier materials used in building enclosures. If the material is to be used for functions in addition to being an air barrier property, physical property requirements for those functions are not fully addressed in this specification. 1.3 The test methods used to determine the material properties provide a means for determining the suitability of a product be considered an air barrier material, suitability of a material for the intended application, and a basis of comparison among materials. 1.4 The test methods listed in this specification are used to determine the values for the physical properties. These physical property values are intended for use in specifications, product evaluations, and quality control. They are not intended to predict end-use product performance. 1.5 Units--The values stated in SI are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
