Work Item: ASTM WK16885 - New Test Method for Test Method for Density and Void Content of Pervious Concrete

Developed by Subcommittee: C09.49 | Committee C09 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Scope

1.1 This test method covers the determination of the density of freshly mixed pervious concrete and gives formulas for calculating the total void content of the pervious concrete. 1.2 The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport too address all of the safety standards, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.4 The text of this standard references notes and footnotes that provide explanatory material. These notes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not be considered as requirements of the standard. It is needed to provide repeatable, relevant methods to specifying agencies and owners that are using pervious concrete. This method will presumably be part of the acceptance criteria of fresh concrete arriving at projects.
