1. Scope

Two tests that can be performed in the field to verify proper operation of a vibrating wire piezometer before installing it in a borehole. VW piezometers are typically not recoverable after installation. Replacement is expensive and sometimes impossible, so it is important to test the sensor before it is installed. Users need simple field tests that employ readily available equipment. The tests should identify any obvious non conformances.
