1. Rationale

ASTM Headquarters is now requiring a mercury caveat be included in all standards that contain references to the use of mercury or mercury instruments. In reviewing ASTM E100, there were other technical changes needed or requested by member(s) of the subcommittee. These changes were reviewed at our October 30th meeting. See the minutes of that meeting for details of the discussions. Changes in the text are highlighted.
