It does not establish or standardize legal constraints over the use of a personĘs name in conjunction with healthcare clinical or business processes, nor does it establish or standardize personal privacy and system security provisions for the use of a personĘs name. This specification does not require the use of a national personal identifier or other universal identifier.
1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
