1. Scope

1.1 This test method provides information on determining the drainage rate of and water retention within a drainage system used in an Adhered Masonry Veneer Wall when subjected to controlled and metered water intrusion at the interface between the cladding and the water resistive barrier. The method can also be used to determine the rate of dissipation of water retained in the drainage space. and from this, the drying rate of the Masonry Veneer wall. 1.2 The test method provides information on the preparation of test specimens, describes the test apparatus to be used and the procedure used to assess the drainage efficacy of the drainage component or system.
