1. Scope
This Standard specifies the general requirements to protective zinc coatings (hereinafter referred to as the coatings) to be applied by the Thermo Diffusion Galvanization method of applying powder mixtures to fasteners and other small products of carbon and low-alloyed steel including high tensile parts as well as of wrought iron made, sinter iron-powder made and copper.
Essentially the method described is an alternative hot galvanization to the earlier developed widespread Hot Dipped galvanization, and results in the formation of same iron û zinc compound layers known as Gamma (Solid Zn ions inside Fe substrate), Delta (Fe11Zn40), and Delta (FeZn7)., excluding the external Eta layer of pure free zinc formed on the HDG coated parts, in- course of their removal from the melted Zinc bath.
