1. Rationale
Note 1 in Sec. 1.3 referencing A449 for general (non-structural) application bolts and anchor bolts is out of date. Since originally inserted, F1554 covering anchor bolts has been published and should be the preferred specification for anchor bolts. This proposed revision addresses this update. It should be noted that F1554 does not have an exact counterpart grade for A449, especially in sizes over 1.0 inch. However, F1554 Gr. 105 provides for anchor bolts with TS, YS, and Elongation in 2 inches equal to or higher than A449. Adding 4.6 re management role and responsibilities in organizing for quality.
