(What is a Work Item? / How to Input to a Work Item)

Work Item: ASTM WK10959 - New STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) AND ENCAPSULATED HIGH STRENGTH GROUT FORMED IN PLACE LINING SYSTEM (FIPLS) FOR THE REHABILIATION OF CONDUITS AND SEWERS

Developed by Subcommittee: F17.67 | Committee F17 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Scope

This specification covers requirements and test methods for materials for a high density polyethylene (HDPE) and encapsulated high strength grout formed-in-place lining system (FIPLA) intended for the rehabilitation of conduits, sewers, gravity flow pipelines and non-pressure pipelines from 8” to 60”. This application is for industrial process liquids and effluents, non-pressure conduits and ducts, and for municipal gravity sewage and storm water pipes. This renewal process involves installing a deformed HDPE studded inner-liner into an existing pipeline, conduit, or duct, then reforming the inner liner against the original pipe or conduit wall. High strength grout is then injected by hydraulic head into the space formed by the inner liner and the existing pipe wall or into the defined space formed between the inner liner and an optional pre-liner which fits closely against the existing pipe wall.
