1. Rationale

This standard was initially devleoped by Committee D08. It has been moved under the jurisdiction of D35 in 2005. D2643 was originally published in 1967 and was developed for a type of material that no longer exists and therefore the standard needs to be revised to be representative of the types of bituminous geomembranes that are currently used.
