1. Scope
This standard guide will provide guidance for selecting retrofits for building components to resist the effects of explosives blasts caused by terrorist attacks.
This standard is needed because there is currently no guidance for selecting or specifying retrofits to building components for homeland security applications that provide resitance to explosives blast effects. It will be used by architects and engineers in both the public and private sectors.
