1. Scope
This standard guide will provide guidance for identifying standard practices and guides for site selection, architectural form and design, building separation, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, parking lot and service area design, emergency access, evacuation areas/routes, drop-offs, and integration with mass transit.
This standard is needed because there is currently no consolidated, comprehensive guidance for developing site designs for homeland security applications. It will be used by architects, landscape architects, engineers, and end uses in both the public and private sectors.
