1. Scope
This standard guide will be used to identify standard practices for entrance design to address entrance placement, road alignment to channel/slow speed, stacking, placement of access control devices, operational controls, road widths, emergency access, lighting, testing, and safety markings and signage.
The standard is needed because there is currently no standard guidance available for how to design vehicle entry control points. It will be used by designers of entry control points from both the public and private sectors.
