Research Report RR:D20-1103
A round robin study has been conducted to formulate a precision and accuracy statement for the proposed new method “Package Yield of Film”. These results include data from six laboratories. In the study four materials (polyethylene 0.0025” nominal thickness, polypropylene 0.001” nominal thickness, polyester 0.0005” nominal thickness, and polyester 0.002” nominal thickness were used. Two methods of sample preparation were used in the round. The details are listed in the attached protocol. Differences in the reported values do not appear to be related to sampling method (straight edge versus template). Use of the two methods of sample preparation resulted in ten data sets.
