This research report presents data from Interlaboratory Study 227, which was conducted to establish a precision statement for the Pulsed Flame Photometric Detector (PFPD) using method D4735-09, Determination of Trace Thiophene in Refined Benzene by Gas Chromatography. Six laboratories participated in the study. Each laboratory analyzed 5 samples of varying targeted concentrations of thiophene in benzene and one sample of blank benzene; each analysis was run in triplicate. All original data and questionnaires submitted by the participants, a summary of the calculated statistics, and the resulting Precision and Bias Statement are included in the report. Calculations of Limit of Quantitation (LOQ) and Limit of Detection (LOD) are also described.
