Research Report: D14-1017 presents the results of the Interlaboratory Study used to establish the precision and bias statement for ASTM D1002 Test Method for Apparent Shear Strength of Single-Lap-Joint Adhesively Bonded Metal Specimens by Tension Loading Metal-to-Metal. The collaborative study ultimately included data from 6 labs who used method D1002 to measure the single over lap shear strength and failure mode of two different adhesives (one epoxy and one methacrylate) on two different substrates (cold rolled steel and aluminum). The research report presents summary method performance statistics as well as the measurement data used to calculate results for the study.
