Research Report RR:D02-1718

    Research Report D02-1718 presents the results of the ASTM round robin program conducted by the ASTM Diesel Fuel Lubricity Task Force to establish the precision and bias statements for ASTM D6079, Standard Test Method for Evaluating Lubricity of Diesel Fuels by the High-Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR), and for ASTM D7688, Standard Test Method for Evaluating Lubricity of Diesel Fuels by the High-Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) by Visual Observation. The collaborative study included 10 laboratories using six fuels to include Grade No. 1D, Grade No. 2-D, biodiesel, and additized fuels. Fuels were blind coded and tested according to a randomization table specific to each laboratory. The research report presents summary method performance statistics as well as the measurement data used to calculate results for the study.
